Background Information About the Tournament: The tournament was established in May 2010 due to the arrival of the Hedgepeth Triplets. The triplets were born at 32 weeks 6 days and are considered “32 weekers” by nurses and doctors. Though their arrival was early, everyone was ready and it was a wait and see kind of season. As of today the triplets continue to amaze everyone who comes in contact with them with their amazing winning streak inside the NICU.
The “Trips” Battle to the Finals: They first took out the ventilator and C-PAP machines –these were no competition for the “Trips”. Next to go down was oxygen, again, no competition. The “Trips” did have to battle with the IV fluids for a few days, but just until their feedings got up to “full feeds.” IV fluids have been left in the dust as of Wednesday night…take that! Next to go down-the feeding tube. This is proving more of a challenge and may show its ugly face here in the finals. We feel confident that the finals will feature Abby, Claire and Brayden against their toughest enemy ever in their life…THE BOTTLE. Right now the statistics show that these 3 need to build up their resistance towards the bottle and its tendency to wear them down towards the end of each feeding. If they can continue to take full feeds (28 mL) and pack on some pounds in the process then they will be your next champion and head to their home to rule. Tournament Details: Think you have what it takes to predict just how strong these Triplets are?! For a small donation of $10.00 you can pick the day you think they will roll out of the NICU triumphant over all of their battles. You can pick as many days as you would like, each additional pick is $5.00. And there is even a bonus overtime round…for a small fee of $5.00 you can try to pick how many 1, 2 or 3 of the triplets come home on the day you selected. So what are you waiting for…get your donations in and get the day you want, the day you need.
Donation Details: All donations will be collected and donated to charity. Abby, Claire and Brayden are able to participate in this tournament because of their older angel brother Jackson Cole. Jackson passed away 3 years ago this month from the rare genetic disorder SMA. All donations will be donated to Families of SMA in Memory of Jackson Cole Hedgepeth. What are you waiting for?
